We didn’t really notice the border.
One moment we were riding, and then we realized: Austria.
The signs were in German again. Familiar—and strangely confusing.
I was looking forward to the Danube.
To flatter roads. To catching my breath.
Austria opened up—mountains in the distance, quiet villages in between.
It felt clean, calm, and steady.
The riding became smoother. My legs stronger. But the heat stayed with us.
The Danube path was a gift. One of the most beautiful parts of the whole ride.
And then came Vienna—big streets, old buildings, and a feeling of history everywhere.
I was quiet inside. Tired, but moving.
